In the western world, many claim the islam is not so compatible with democracy. Turkey though is predominantly muslim but very plural, and looks just like any other European country. Moreover, the issues they have with democracy mostly stem from Turkish nationalism, an ideology that eminated from the West.
This photo was taken on one of the princes' islands just off the coast of Istanbul. I was deadly tired that day after a nightly train-travel of more than 15 hours.
