I had a bad tree in the yard. I can't believe it has not landed on the house yet so it had to go. The mockingbirds lost their home. I hope they find a new one close by.

I've always loved mockingbirds, in birdform and in books.....To Kill a Mockingbird, my favourite. They are the sweetest little birds. I know they will find a new home.

Thank you everyone. I am happy to report that the mocking birds keep coming back to the stump so they must be busy building a nest near by.

I'm from the South, and there is an old saying that a Mockingbird will sing when someone has passed away. One was in a Post Oak the day after my Father passed, across my my Mother's bedroom...I've always thought they were magical birds, I could listen to them mimic for hours. Mattieu

This is great . I really like the softness of the shot..... I have a bird book and it states that they can even mimic a car horn..... That I would love to hear....
