Japan’s name translates to “The land of the rising sun”. The red circle in the middle of the Japanese flag symbolizes the sun and reflects brightness, sincerity and warmth. Thankfully, heartfelt prayers and aid continue to pour into Japan. As I look at this sunrise I captured last fall in the Italian valley where I live, I remain hopeful Japan will recover.
