We had a tornado come thru Byron last night. Luckily, the damage was limited to a motel. Those sirens terrify me. They make you feel trapped.
The first picture is of the Days Inn in Byron. They lost their roof. The second image shows the parking lot next door to the motel. They had some damage to their gas pumps and a few signs. The third image shows a car under the roof. The 4th image is a telephone pole that snapped. The 5th image shows the pool at the days inn. We swim there often. Part of the roof is in the pool. The 6th image shows a telephone pole that was snapped right out of the ground. The last is another telephone pole with a broken sign in the background.
Everything is taped off but everyone in Byron knows me as "the Photographer from Byron" so the yellow tape didn't stop me.

I love that morning light!

I had a shoot yesterday morning and am spending the weekend with my kids after I get these shots off to the news papers so forgive me for being away. I will be at the studio working all day tomorrow and teaching tomorrow night but I will be able to catch up some then.

Funnily enough I was watching "Twister" yesterday - hadn't watched the news so I didn't know there were real twisters going on. I was thinking as I was watching the movie that I was grateful that I lived in a place where we don't get twisters. They really are terrifying. Great pics, Reg.

Great photos Regenia showing the damage. Sorry to hear that it was close to you and others and that all of you had to witness nature at its worse. Luckily as you said minor damage and no one died.
