The Marques Tower located at the front entrance to The Château de Chenonceaux is the only remaining portion of the fortified mill and castle built by the Marques family at Chenonceaux. The forecourt itself outlines the layout of the former castle, and the dungeon, and coat of arms of the Marques family still remains. Thomas Bohier, the Chamberlain to the king of France, bought the property from the Marques family and had the tower refurbished in the Renaissance style as it is seen today.
