I had fun today looking for texture and designs in tree stumps in our woods and I thought this stump filled with holes was rather interesting.

Regenia is right (she usu. is!). I wonder if they are insect holes or woodpecker holes...or some of both.

Thank you for your comments...Donald, I think it is probably insect and woodpecker holes, plus it came from a dead tree to begin with that was cut down...the wood gets softened and old over the years...
