Hand held, in the dark in my back yard, burning some cardboard and shooting in the dark. I call this one "The fires of Hades" because it looks like the souls of the fallen are burning upon contact with the flames.

This photo was taken with a Canon 1D Mark II, Hand held, 30sec exposure. (YES I SAID 30sec.) Trust me I was just as suprised as you are.

The subject is embers from a dying fire.
