Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

I loved the wonderful diffusion of light that the curtains in my hotel room created so much so that I wanted to take them with me when I left to return home rather than the mini soaps and shampoo..
If only they fitted :)
