Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

While on a photo walk in Geneva, IL with two photo friends of mine, we stopped off at St. Mark's church. The sun was just cresting behind the steeple, and I thought it would make for an interesting photograph. I exposed for the brightness of the sun, leaving the church darkened. To further enhance the effect I made sure I used my polarizing filter which gave the sky this distinctive look.
