..Ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? St. Luke 12: 56

In our woods yesterday

I saw the face of a stump

It had grace e'en-- in decay..

Once it was a magnificent tree

Tall with dignity and pride...

Makes us humble as we see,

How chips crumble on its side

What is left of time will be...

Poetry by me, AJP

It is fun to find nature's art in the woods and the first thing that I observed as I walked down our ravine in the woods was this stump ...It was sitting on a hillside across from our spring. It was not just an ordinary stump... I immediately spotted the curious face inside of it..worn with time and age..That stump had probably been there for a number of years but it was the first time I had actually studied it and saw what it contained...Hope you can see it too..

I definitely see a heart-shaped face with 2 symmetrical eyes. Well seen and captured, Andrea!
