one of my favorite memories from living in HI. Some parts of "From Here to Eternity" were filmed here behind that point in the middle of the picture.

I grew up a mile from Hanauma Bay on the East side of Oahu. I understand the beach gets closed on a regular basis to let the area heal from over use. Back in the 60's this place was very, very beautiful. With all the tourists using that beach and feeding the fish frozen peas and carrots, the swimming area turned murky and awful. Your photo actually shows off the beautiful blues very nicely.
