After I was registered in the 'Foreigners book' The inspector asked me if I would like to have some lunch. I was already smiling when he offered to share the tiffin his wife prepared (the Indian compartment lunch box combo).
We went down to the government diner in the first floor, sat in a picknick table outdoors and he shared everything he had with me.
Getting up from the table he invited me to meet him two weeks later at the improvised police station of a 2 day festival I was intending to attend as well.
