Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Can't match your album head shots, they are too great. But couldn't resist this one for you.

When J is not taking photos, she does woodworking, She just finished making this intarsia piece and held it up so I could get the shot for her album. That is all natural color wood, not paint/stain etc. That beard is also perfectly flat and smooth.

Thanks all for the kind comments on J's work. Regenia, the piece is on display at an art gallery in Newport, OR -- the town of the proposed meet-up for summer 2012. (how was that for a subtle hint? ;-) )
