In 1999, my step mother died.
She had been sick for a couple of years and we knew this would be the unfortunate outcome. When I found out I headed north to Ohio to be with my dad. The day after I got there the door bell rang early that morning and it was my fathers neighbor and her daughter, who was probably about 4 years old. The little girl handed me the picture, as her mother offered condolences. I remember thinking the notion was nice, but couldn't put my finger on how I felt about the picture. I wish I could have seen my own face. Now, that being said, I have held onto this memento from my lovely step mothers death, and for some reason I treasure this little kid drawing...

I think the smiling face is not fitting with the words.

What a touching memento! I can just picture the 4-year old putting her heart and soul into the picture, not completely understanding the occasion. It's actually quite good for 4...all of the features are where they should be, which a lot of children that age would not get. I voted yes.

Susan, I'm guessing her age! She might have been a little older, but the notion that a kid would make this, is priceless.
