Indian men traditionally dress colorfully, any color. Public consent, no taboo, freedom of expression. Hindu, Christian and Sikh women do as well.

Lungi, a men's ankle long dress that at day time is folded up into a skirt and tucked-in around the belly-button.

The Lungis are almost as colorful as the villages around however the Dhotis are mostly in a rather simple checkered design and are a wrap around rather then a loop skirt.

I was 'warned' by my friends family, who gifted me with one, not to walk the streets in it as it supposed to be an in-home unofficial dress. Sort of pajamas or robe.

Dhalappa 'cap' or sweat-absorber

Hindi for Lungi and Dhoti: लुंगी धोतीand Tamil: வேட்டி லுங்கி
