Until 2 weeks ago, I had seen very few turkey vultures in my life. My brother and I saw 6 on a hike a couple weeks ago, and since then I have seen at least one (sometimes up to 8) every day since. Even in the desert, 3 hours away from home, they came to dance with the ravens over our camp :)
"In Greek mythology, the Vulture is the descendant of the Griffin. It was a very Buddhist-like, Zen-like symbol of the non-dual oneness of heaven and earth, spirit and matter, good and evil, guardian and avenger. The Vulture is the avenger of nature spirits."
