If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

I have decided to try and post a picture of all my pets. This is Shadow. Her Mother found me in 1993 when she brought 3 kittens to my home. She was feral cat and trusted no one. Then she was gone. She did not show up again for several months. This time she had had another litter, but only had one who lived. She finally let be befriend that kitten, but in the end it died in my hands a few days latter. I laid the kitten on a towel and she laid by it all night. I finally told her I had to take the sweet kitty and bury it. Again she left for a few months. Finally in Sept of 1995, during Hurricane Opal she had 4 babies. Lots of rain and all. I moved them into a sheltered box but when I went inside she moved them where she wanted them. By the wooden fence in the rain. Somehow, they all lived and are still with me. Mama- who looked just like baby Shadow died of cancer in October 2005. I never saw them apart. Never- thus the name Shadow. Its a long story, but 2 of the kittens moved inside a few years ago. Now McGregor also lives inside as he has FIV and must stay well but is semi isolated. Only Shadow remains outside. I fear she too is not well. Over the past few weeks she is beginning to trust me finally. Boomer is her Brother and Muffin is her sister. McGregor is her brother. They will turn 17 in September. Mama finally realized she need some help with her kittens and finally trusted me enough to take care of them. I am so glad she did. Her Mama was really a good Mother.
Shadow will be 17 in September.
Post note : Shadows brother McGregor almost died in Jan 2011. He now lives in the house, but is HIV + (or FIV+) His health is much improved I am happy to say.
I fear Shadow is also FIV + but she is not at tame - though she does came when I call.
