Interesting shot, Alexis. The fact that that forest is very dense and the trees are apparently stunted leads me to believe this is very close to the sea coast? I don't know if that's correct but we have very similiar occurances here.

Zircon, you are absolutely correct. I shot this from a hiking path that overlooks the trees on one side, and the beach on the other. The distance from the trees to the beach can't be more than 50 feet. Geat observation!
