Leader of the (Canadian) opposition, Jack Layton, addresses supporters in Toronto following the historic federal election in May 2011. His New Democratic Party surged to its strongest seat count with more than twice it's previous historic high. The party's rise came with the collapse of another - Quebec sovereignty party 'Bloc Quebecois' was reduced to four seats.
