This guy was fluttering around on my outdoor chair--which just happened to be purple. As much as this looks like some sort of butterfly, my guess it's some kind of hairy-back moth. I've never seen this kind anywhere--especially NJ.

    We have luna moths here at home. They are beautiful. This is a great photo,especially with the purple background.
