The soldier on the left was my dear, sweet high school friend. He was very shy, but so kind to everyone. I hope seeing this visual image will make him a little more real to everyone. And the young boy on the right is thanking all our servicemen and women who fought the good fight. Ophrey, we do remember you. Below is what was written on The Vietnam Wall regarding his death:

So many went too soon. Horible enough that your friend died of wounds from hostile fire. Think of those parents who had to read "Died as a result of friendly artillery fire" as was the case of two of my platoon members in 1967.
Very nice tribute Patty. -

Well done Patty! One of the guys I grew up with had his F-105 shot down over N. Viet Nam and spent almost 7 years as a POW.

I know, it was a horrible war. We lost several young men from our high school graduating class. Never got the chance to really live, as their lives were cut short far too soon.

A brief and concise description of his military service...it leaves a lot out. Another wonderful tribute to your friend.
