Again, this is a repost. This image was entered into the Imagination contest as well. I also thought it would be appropriate to post because it will help explain my other project.
As many of you know, I have had a stalker issue. I have been followed around from site to site for several years now. They have stolen my images, copied them badly, created fake profiles, libeled me and harrassed my contacts both personal and professional. I have made several police reports and the police contacted them, told them to stop, but they kept at it. I then applied for a restraining order and got a judge that had no understanding of the internet or internet bullying or harrassment. I was not given my restraining order since I could not honestly say that I feared for my life. The judge gave the other party a severe chewing out, told them to leave me alone and told me to get a lawyer and sue the other party in civil court. That was an unacceptable approach for me. Laws are being broken and they need to be enforced.
I have since been working hard with our elected officials to have the laws already in place enforced. It is a felony offense and should be treated as one. I am happy to report that progress is being made. I now have contacts with the FBI and our elected officials are getting to know me and my cause. If you are having a problem with this too, please contact me. I can give you the information you need so that you can stand up for yourself. Be sure you write to your elected officials too.
Thank you so much for your support everyone and thank you for the spotlight Susan!!
This image has scored very high and won several contest as well. It is usually entered under the still life theme. I think it does well since it fills the frame. It is composed to pull the eye in.
In the How to Place in Competition photo essay.

I cannot believe she is STILL stalking you! I hope there will soon be a resolution to this issue for you, and that she is given the legal punishment she deserves!!

I don't understand why someone would even want to do this. I thought that it was over, but evidently not. Be strong. If that doesn't work, try legal aid and pursue it in court. There's no excuse for this.

Since the evolution of technology, I am in favor Congress needs to pass laws which pertain to our internet rights, copyrights and privacy. If Congress thinks this is not a serious issue, the problems will only get worse and until a majority of our lawmakers experience an infringement of any of the above we will be forced to do what Regenia is doing by starting from our State's Congress, writing to both our elected State officials and Government officials about these very important issues that make all of us vulnerable to all of these lack of internet laws. Great Post Regenia!!!

I love this one, Regenia! I admire your staunchness in pursuing this issue. Someone was violating copyrights on some artwork that my sister and I owned. When we approached the FBI, they sent us to the Treasury Dept., who told us that we would have to fight it in federal court, since they were too busy to pursue copyright violations. That was not an option for us, because we didn't have the financial resources to do that. We had to close our business. I don't know why there are laws that are not enforced, but apparently there are a lot of them. Good luck with your pursuit on this one. My prayers are with you.

I absolutely love this shot! Composition, color and everything about it. I think what really hit me was the spoons - one never hears of them being 'played' anymore, and my Dad was really good with them (and rib bones aka 'bones'). I miss him and hearing his impromptu playing at the dinner table if things got dull or heated ... or just to tease mom when we had the preacher over for Sunday Lunch. As for your narrative - is there anything any of us can do to help you in the battle? If it is someone posting here or RB, we might be able to bring group pressure to bear. Hang in there, you have far more friends than enemies.

Thank you so so much everyone!! If your images are being used on a website, Judy, you can often write the site and report it. They will remove them. I had a bunch removed from her myspace page. I have also been written by several people stating that they saved the letters that she has written them about me. If you have those letters and will forward them to me, it will be a huge help. You can forward them to my email address at regeniabrabham@yahoo.com

As artist your image is copyrighted as soon as your shutter clicks. You may also register your copyrights. The difference is in the amount that you are able to sue them for use. A few hundred dollars versus 150, 000 dollars. It is not hard to register a copyright and the payoff may well be worth the time and energy it takes. My images are now registered. Cha ching!!

This is a great shot Regenia, reading all of the above is an eye opener...you are to be commended for fighting this issue, it is in one word "stealing" when others take our work and use it for whatever...
-
Regenia Brabham said (5 Jun 2011):
I agree Joerg!! Very very much!! The point is wrong is wrong and if you don't like someone...go away and leave them alone. Act like a christian adult instead of an evil nine year old. Thank you my friend!

I'm pretty sure the guys at jpgmag need to reconsider booting the bad apple out of this peck. there ARE cyberstalking laws and you need to appeal to a higher authority. you have the right to peaceful enjoyment of your life and people like her, should be locked in a cellar.
