The 13,300 ha Baw Baw National Park covers a substantial part of the Baw Baw Plateau and sections of the Thomson and Aberfeldy River valleys. One of the two Victorian national parks with large areas of sub-alpine vegetation, it offers outstanding views, colourful wildflowers in early summer and open grassy plains with Snow Gum woodlands.
The summit has an exclusive ski resort village with many luxurious villas. A playground for any ski enthusiast this is a must destination on your holiday calendar.
I took this photo inside the car as there was no way I was getting out with the slippery road conditions.
The words Baw Baw are said to be an Aboriginal term for 'echo'.
PS: Never drive in a car without traction or chains in these conditions, I found out it is quite dangerous.....LOL. Dick, I think you may recall Baw Baw prior to me leaving JPG for a few months and I bet your still laughing at my experience :(
