I captured this in Corpus Christi, Texas as Hurricane Alex moved in just below us in 2010. Early on, the light was incredible. The ocean was lit up and turned a beautiful clear green. The skies held the light in and it reflected in tiny sparkles all over the water. Later, the skies grew darker and the ocean moved in threatening to swallow us up. I held my breath as the waters moved up hoping until the last minute that the storm would not change direction. Then I felt bad for wishing the storm on others. We got a lot of rain and flooding on our island but the view before and after was worth every bit of wind and rain.

This image breaks a major composition rule. "Rule of Thirds" but I don't want to loose one tiny bit of light on it.

Rules are made to be broken. I love the detail of the water lapping on the beach (or should I say pounding?).... a brilliant image and entry, Regenia...(I'm having trouble seeing and posting props on jpg)... hope you get my fave and prop!

Thank you so much everyone and yes, BB, I miss Texas very very much. Try running a virus scan Debrah. I had huge issues today and yesterday and they were from a virus on one of these ads. I contacted JPG about it and ran a scan and it seems to be better now.

This is really beautiful...quite an awesome shot of the hurricane, Regenia!!!! Btw, I'm losing all my "votable" photos. Is anyone else having this problem?? I am wondering about a virus here on JPG.
