A time to rend, and and a time to sew: a time to keep silence, and a time to speak. Ecclesiastes 3: 7

This is another version showing the mantle clock converted into monochrome. As I mentioned in the first version, this is a clock that was given to my mother's parents in 1907 as a wedding gift. My mother passed it down to me several years later. It is interesting that the challenge for this category ends on July 18th, the day my mother turns 102. Time slips by very quickly.

In comparing the Bible verse to the clock, I would say when the clock isn't wound up to chime, it remains silent, but it speaks loudly when it chimes.

Fabulous tones on this image and what a great treasure. My adopted father rebuilt old clocks in his spare time. We had a house full of ticking and tocking and dinging and donging. I remember him winding them and setting the chimes to go off at just the right moment. Often when I can't sleep, I think back to the ticking and tocking and it puts me out.
