Subject: Children of the Shan

We went there to live among the people, to hear their stories and to bring them back home.

We told the children stories, we fed them and gave them gifts.

I know that this does very little to alleviate their situation, but it is a small token to help them know that we care.

To this day, Burma is one of the most repressive and oppressive places in the world. With a government that actively attacks their minorities and keeps the rest of their people unaware.

To date, there are a million internally displaced people roaming the forests of Burma in hopes of evading the army - and another million who have fled and sought sanctuary along the border of Thailand and Burma.

These are some of the photos I took while I was in one of those refugee communities.
