The love of a chipping sparrow mother is so evident in these two sequences that I shot in my diptych, even after her baby has left the nest....She brought him to the bird feeder, fed him and then she taught him how to find his own seeds. He looked a little helpless after she left him there but he soon found his way. The baby looks almost bigger than the mother, but that's because it has fluffier feathers.
What greater thing to carry than a pocket full of love?

Such a wonderful photograph and explanation of mother birds teaching their young. I have watched many starlings walking around the yard teaching their "baby bird" how to find worms. The baby is quite often as big as the mother. I love this wonderful photo, Andrea!!!

Beautiful captures, Andrea! We could learn about love from the birds. I love to watch the male bluebird take food to his mate when she is laying her eggs. Then they diligently feed and protect their young ones after they are hatched. Our baby bluebirds flew away on Tues.
