Little did this little girl know she now has to find a good new home in which to raise a family as of course she is EXPECTING. A new home with a view to keep a look out for this BIG GREEN LIZARD !! I do not think she will give this guy her address !!!

This guy is at it again !!!!

You can see he has her by the nap of the neck. Does this big lizard have a one track mind ?

I wonder if this is the same little girl he caught the other day. Perhaps she just put on her green coat. Catching this act once (July 4th) was enough, twice is way to much !!

Did you know these females lay eggs? I found 4- 2 years ago, while digging. I saved them, and the next time I thought about them (3-4 months) , I opened the little container and 3 of the eggs hatched. The babies were of course deceased. I really felt bad. The eggs were white, about the size of a small pea and were shaped just like a chicken egg. From now on, I will take no more pictures !!! To be able to enjoy these green anole lizards, guess they have to do what they have to do..

JULY 8TH. Guess who was sneaking about when I went out today to change the water in the pool for the coons. The big green guy. He was showing his pink decoration (under his chin-don't know what its called) I got to close and he ran off and hid in the vine.

Sometimes- I take out struggling flies out of the raccoons pool. They land there to get a left over piece of food. I rescued 2 of these pesky nasty flies- and laid them on the wooded fence rail.

One of them- shook off its wings and was thankful to be able to fly off. FROM OUT OF NO WHERE COMES THE GREEN LIZ and ate him up. Then he went for the second fly. Seems this one drowned and was dead. The liz grabbed it, then just as fast SPIT IT out........ What can I say about this !!!

What is catching my eyes besides the love sick lizards are those huge heart shaped leaves that looks like a Dutchman pipe vine. I recognize it because we have one just like it except we don't have the lizards LOL The greenery is very pretty.

I don't know the real name, but here in the south, Its called a sweet potatoe vine. Its not real full this year because of the lack of rain. duhhhh. Once I started watering my yard and bushes ect they are coming back. The vine has seeds? in th eearly winter fm pea size to base ball size. Just save and replant the next year. :-) Its a beautiful vine really. NO flowers though.

Those amorous anoles are at it again! Great nature shot, Gloria. We found some of those eggs in our shed last year, but I don't think they ever hatched.
