They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. Psalms 145:7

Mother has been in the Nursing Home now for almost a year...This collage is of some of her belongings that were sold at a rummage sale in the apartment where she moved from.

The picture on the top right that shows the wallpaper is in her bedroom at the nursing home...The little plaque "Jesus Never Fails" Mom painted several years ago and I am happy she was able to take that memory with her to the nursing home. I gave her the little musical doll in 1999 which plays the song "In the Good Old Summer Time." Mother had been ill during that time period and had a short stay in the hospital...I bought the little doll in the hospital gift shop and took care of Mom for 6 weeks until she recovered.

Mother will be 102 years old on July 18th...she has been diagnosed as having dementia, which saddens me, but I have many good memories of her ...She was a very talented articulate and intelligent woman in her day. She was an artist, a musician, she wrote poetry, she gave piano lessons in her home for several years, and she was a church organist for 75 years..She also played for funerals and weddings...She was able to take her piano with her to the Nursing Home where she plays for the residents and she still remembers the notes.

    102. Wow. What a long life she has had. Dont think of her condition as dementia. She has lived so long and has so many memories and facts- its just hard to sort them out!!

Wonderful example of the many changes which transpire when a move takes place. Your collage is very lovely and touching, Andrea. It is very representative of your mother's life........so many beautiful memories here. (My mother is also in a nursing home in Ohio, and has had Alzheimer's Disease for 14 years. I can easily relate to your situation.) Very good photo for this theme!!!

This is a wonderful collection of memories, Andrea. Ours was the same situation with my Dad. Very difficult disease to deal with so I know how you feel. Great entry.

Thank you everyone for your kind words...Yes, Leslie it is difficult as we have these wonderful memories but we know things can't be the same as they were..I called my mother tonight and she was in bed but she thought it was morning and time to eat breakfast..I finally convinced her it was night time and then she decided she needed rest rather than to talk on the phone. Our conversation was very brief as it is getting harder for her to converse.

What a nice collection of her life's memories. This describes one of life's saddest major changes. A great collage and entry, Andrea.
