Those in Australia will know the story, but for those who arent here is a breif summary. The Australian cattle industry has come to a grinding halt recently, when the government suspended live trade exports to indonesia due to claims of animal cruelty once the animals were delivered. This has crippled the beef industry, causing prices to plummet. Animals are stranded on the docks, waiting for the ban to be lifted. Some farmers are even resorting to shooting livestock in the paddocks, since without a market for sale, they are costing more to keep alive than they are worth.
In the story My Little Peice of Heaven.

I often wish I were a Vegan; I am, however, an ovo-lacto Vegetarian. I do not 'preach' it, but am 'proud' of it.

I am from a proud family of beef breeders, but dont force the meat eating issue if vegetarians dont force there point of view on me! Each to their own, but I would be shot if I served a meal without meat in my house! lol
