Photo taken in Decatur,Tn. of these three Amish children.I took this with a 300mm lens from inside my husbands truck,but they were still aware of my presence and would not look my way. I have always liked this photo because it depicts their way of life and the simplicity of their culture.

    I love the idea of the Amish way of life, but alas am too grounded in technology to ever live it. The fact that it still flourishes is lovely, though.

    Wonderful photo, Donna! I had Amish neighbors when I still lived in Southern Ohio, and they were such a joy. I wonder the same as Gary.....perhaps the Amish have it right!!!

    I lived in Lancaster, PA for a year growing up and its Amish country. It is captivating to watch how they live sometimes. We used to go on tours of Amish farms where waterwills ran wooden gears that ground flour in their mill.
