He hath made everything beautiful in His time...
Ecclesiastes 3: 11

This is the last picture for this series of my mother's 102nd birthday celebration...Although I shot more images than this, I narrowed it down to the pictures that I thought turned out the best...Needless to say I got a little tearful when I saw the pictures here but I think it was the best images that I shot of the whole it shows the love so well between young and old of Mom with her two great grandsons saying their goodbyes.

The painting reproduction print of Christ on the left side is one that I shot with my camera just before we left and it was hanging in the dining hall of the church.

How beautiful and touching, Andrea. Dave and I both love this heartwarming photograph! We can easily see the comparison between the old and the new, which is all a part of the life cycle, but yet is so difficult to accept at times. We have both gone through this with our beloved parents. Thank God for our precious memories which will endure for all of our lifetimes. I have always loved the painting of Christ knocking on the door (to our hearts) too. Very beautiful collage, Andrea!!!

Thank you all for your kind words...Endearing moments like this are straight from the heart and I am glad I captured it for it to be treasured in years to come.. I realize at the age of102 our mother will not always be with us but I wanted these good memories of her enjoying the day to be lasting images. Mom was alert on Sunday, but according to the nursing home staff, she has lost a lot of her cognitive reasoning now and she sleeps during the activity sessions they furnish for the residents instead of taking part. Next year at this time she might not even know her family if she is still living...This is a part of life and sad as it is, we can't change what is taking place but to be prepared for her dementia to only get worse.

I don't know what would be worse, the body failing and the mind lasting or the other way around. I do know that life is precious and your mother has had a long good one. Her loving family is proof of that. This entire series is a treasure Andrea.
