Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

In an old abandoned pumphouse was this very large valve. To me, it was like the very aged veterans I see sometimes, weathered but still ready, standing at attention at a parade.

This picture was a challenge and required me to move debris about to control the ambient light by blocking windows or making impromptu reflectors. The back windows were covered with green fiberglass corrugated sheeting which gave the background color.

This is not HDR.
