if you notice the background coming together as multicolored circles that make the trees undefinable.. that my friend is called bouquet. the Japanese spent well over 60 years perfecting this blending and blurring of the background in there camera lenses and made it just as important as the vivid detail of the person or animal in the portraiture sitting still in the foreground .
many serous studio and natural light photographers sought out Japanese lenses through out the years because of how they perfected the background bouquet compared to a us made lens .
now a days most cameras do pretty well with the blending of the background but there's some really good straight up lenses and some effects lenses( not screw on filter) that will do the job well.
