A light shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts..
II Peter 1: 19
The back side of a hollyhock
Turns around to face life
And learns there is no block,
To obscure vision to sight,
When it can see God's light...
Poetry by me, AJP
There were variable types of lighting this morning when I shot this picture...and this is a mix of shade and light.. What caught my eye before shooting, was the golden brightness of the field beyond, where the hollyhock was facing ...
I could not help but notice the green star attached to the back of the flower and the center tones have rays projecting around it like the sun. To go a step further, the leaf above the star on the stem appears to be pushing the flower forward to face the light... Sometimes it is necessary to look toward the beyond to give light to darkness.

What a great shot of the hollyhock. Flowers are beautiful from the inside out, front and back. The golden background was definitely perfect for this : )

Well seen and presented, Andrea. Nature did it just right with that star being the vessel for the flower to spring from.
