I lifted up mine eyes and looked and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand...Zechariah 2: 1
We were running late
And on our way...
Mother's 102nd birthday,
When we saw a stranger
We would ne'er meet...
The worst danger
For him was the heat...
One hand held a cane
And the other carried a load.
A picture there was to gain,
On this lonely road...
Poetry by me AJP
I shot this picture from the passenger's side of the car on July 17th...The humidity was terrible that day and you can see the mist in the trees...It was most unusual to see this stranger walking in that kind of heat. My heart went out to him but we did not offer him a ride because in this day and age you just cannot trust everyone. He shall remain the stranger on a lonely road.
