The Fred Hartman suspension bridge over the Houston Ship Channel at the beginning of dusk. Before the bridge there was an underwater tunnel to Baytown from LaPorte, TX. I drove in this tunnel frequently until it was shut down and this magnificent bridge was built.
Once, on a bicycle tour, we rode our bicycles over this bridge. What a challenge and I am proud to say that I did not walk it at any point, I was on my bicycle the whole time! On this same tour we crossed the ship channel further into the ride, crossing on the ferry at Lynchburg Crossing.
