...As a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.. Psalm 104: 3

The sun was was still shining brightly at 6:00 PM tonight. I used the umbrella for the purpose of shading, but there are still sections of this picture that are over exposed. The only reason why I didn't delete this image is because of the unexpected bee that joined me which I thought added interest..

It actually looks like I am shading the bee on the Zinnia with my umbrella.... .I thought I heard buzzing when I knelt for this self portrait but since I didn't move or act alarmed, the sweet little bee kept on pollinating the Zinnia behind my shoulder.. and I didn't get stung. Maybe it was the same bee that I shot yesterday resting underneath the Hollyhock.

Who we are among,
Could be a friend
To join us in the light,
We might also get stung
As we take nervous flight...
Right after the camera
Records our painful grin...
This little bee on the Zinnia
Did not abuse his powers,
But kept on working after hours.

I, for one, like the uneven lighting...makes it look more realistic!! Lovely portrait. That bee is trying to steal to upstage you! LOL

This is wonderful, Andrea! I would love the SP anyway, but the bee adds a very charming touch.

That little bee is going to demand "overtime." Quite a lovely photo, Andrea.

I like the contrast in the lighting, too. Plus the POV. Lovely, SP.

I agree with Don, I like uneven lighting also. It not only looks realistic, it looks artistic. This is a beautiful SP of you : )

Thank you everyone for your comments. I have grown to like this picture better than I first did...I sometimes critique my own work in looking more at the lighting than I do at the picture in its entirety..I did other self portraits that evening but
this is the only one that showed the bee and that influenced my choice in
    keeping it.
