A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver...Proverbs 25: 11

Smiling thru' a frame
Of a crab apple tree
Is a happy state to be
If you play the game.

Tho' the branch was old
It was there, to hold,
til' it later got broken..
The words fitly spoken
Are in pictures of gold..
Poetry by me, AJP

I had no intention of doing a self portrait today but the garland of apples
caught my eye on our crab apple tree by the side of our driveway..only the
plan wasn't so easy..some of the apples tumbled to the ground, and by
the time that I got done, the branch that formed the frame broke in half,
but I had fun trying to make it work:) In my mind the garland of apples
and how it was curved, reminded me of a smile.. if you can imagine
crab apples smiling:)

I allowed myself 10 seconds on my self timer to crawl underneath the frame loaded with apples which was close to the ground where I knelt and hoped I wouldn't get hit on the head in the meanwhile with an avalanche of apples falling! LOL

You are irrepressible, Andrea. This is such a nice shot, and I guess you needed ALL ten seconds to get into position! LOL

Thank you for your comments..Yes, you are so right, Richard...I needed those 10 seconds and possibly more to get in place as had to crawl around tangled branches but I liked the concept of the smiling crab apples although I know it is not the most flattering self portrait I have ever taken...We can't take life and ourselves so seriously that we forget to laugh. Yes, Donald, those are huge crab apples this year and the tree is loaded from top to bottom.
