Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

...would still be one of the roses I am growing in our community garden. Image captured Saturday 20 August 2011. This plant was dying before I brought it to the garden and placed it into the earth, into one of our two plots; I transplanted it from a pot I had on our porch, which was canopied by the mighty Redwoods, starving for Sunshine.
