The day before Hurricane Irene is due to pass by just west of us. No waves yet, but some gorgeous fog-banks that were coming and going the other side of Whale Rock.
The foundation on the rock is all that is left of the lighthouse that washed away with its keeper during the '38 hurricane

Scary and awesome!! I can just imagine the lighthouse keeper searching for the lighthouse to warn you all of the storms approach.
