Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

He runneth upon me like a giant...Job 16:14

The giant swallowtail
Does not fail
to perfect its line
Of concentration.
It has discipline..
Flying tween' Marigold
Zinnias and carnations
No time to be slow
In flowers pollination..
For interruption,
Means disruption..

Thank you Donald...I am glad you liked it...I never tire of butterflies and flowers.
I really love to see them on the Marigolds and the Zinnia's that are growing
in the spot around the road grader...We used to have carnations too but this
year they did not grow ...I was thinking about them when I wrote my poetry:)

I rarely see anything to equal this in the nature magazines I receive.

I love it! So very beautiful. While marigolds are not my particular favorite, they do take me back to my years in Maryland. My mother was very fond on them and they were planted all over the yard. Each fall, she collected the seeds so that she could plant them again the following year. The yard would be bright with oranges and yellows. They are pretty but don't smell very nice. My favorites were the morning glories she planted on the trellis going out to the garden in the backyard.
