A gentle giant
Posing with the sky
Is ne'er defiant
For one to fear
When it is a butterfly
Giving hope and cheer
To celebrate rebirth
Of the flowers on earth.

I shot this picture on September 4th, taken at a low angle so that I could shoot the butterfly against the blue sky...Most of the day the sky was dreary and overcast but it turned blue just as the Giant Swallowtail appeared around 4:30.
It made a good gift for my birthday on the 5th. ( As I am typing this I have turned
68...another year older...) Also timely for Labor Day.. I think how hard the butterflies work to pollinate the flowers on earth for us to appreciate and admire.
