Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Makest the outgoings of the morning to rejoice...Psalm 65:6

Well, I got up at 6:00 AM this morning...Which is really EARLY for me and it was still dark as night outside...So I waited until 6:30 before venturing outside. I was outside for a good hour taking various pictures of flowers, including a shot of a female cardinal who flew on an ear of corn in the corn field but I chose this SP by the old Farmall tractor in the weeds that I shot at 7:11 AM that I liked the best for the soft even lighting and for nostalgic reasons..

There was no pretty sunrise this morning that I was hoping for and I am still waiting for the morning glories to bloom yet .. I had fun anyway and I loved getting up early once I got myself out of bed and pried my eyes open to greet the day:) This will be a short series until the 18th as I wanted to get in practice with early morning light. I had been going to bed very late at night for several years now and I am changing my habits to get up earlier to work with morning light for this series. Now I realize I have been missing out on the best time of the day for shooting pictures. The upload I shot today is right from the camera with no photo editing. I had a terrible time trying to upload this today but finally got it to go through after several attempts.

It doesn't take Hollywood to make a glamor shot! Well done! This is a great photo subject. (I want to see what you will be doing early mornings during Winter!!!) ☺

That's an idea Donald..I had never thought of getting up early in the winter time.
When I should have been doing this is during the daily diary series...Thanks
    for the comments.

I love the soft lighting on this and taking it by the tractor that is retired and with your lovely dress on, it definitely looks like a nostalgic setting : )
