The pier legs to the right are where some of our family likes to go fishing, when there is water there, that is! At the bottom of one leg is a cable with a loop in it. My son-in-law says he is going to remove that cable as he has lost many fishing hooks when they got tangled up in it. We would have moved it for him, but it will need some heavy duty tools to accomplish that.

OMG!! This is really an awful situation. Hope you get rain soon! I know that you folks often get enough rain for flooding, but hope that you get gentle sheets of it this time!

Don said it perfectly! We hear and read about the drought, but these pictures really tell the story!!

Yes, we can get hard rains that cause flooding but not this year! I wish that there was a way to transfer flood waters elsewhere to us, we would be glad to take it off of your hands!!! Now there are all of the wildfires here causing such grief to so many people. It's just crazy!!!!!!!

A sad sight! Some of our lakes look the same way. A great shot. I hope you get some serious rain to fill that lake.

It is sad how the water that is left could also be in danger of drying up also if you don't get rain..It looks like a grim situation...

What a beautifully balanced photo. I feel so sorry for the farmers and ranchers. Harsh conditions, harsh times.

This clearly shows just how bad the drought is. Excellent comp, Ann.

WOW. That is bad. Saroj has flooding and there are so many places here that need the water.

Yes, this is an amazing sight. The low water has also put a stop to boating in Lake Houston because the boat ramps are too shallow to use. Trees are dying too, which is so sad to see. We are all hoping a tropical storm will bring the rain we need, but still don't want a hurricane.
