And God said, Let there be light: and there was light... Genesis 1:5
I waited until the sun lit on the Morning Glory vine... and the Angel's Trumpets flowers before I stepped into this shot. The sun was so bright I had to turn my face away..I also turned my camera on the tripod at an angle rather than to have it facing the sun. I was happy to see I caught some rays on this last picture that I shot this morning. Still waiting for the Morning glories to bloom but they are late this year. Hopefully, before this series is over I'll capture the morning glories in the sun. The vine keeps growing taller but there are no flowers on it:)
This is a short early morning series that I decided on my own to do until September 18th where I am following the path of the sun...Originally I had planned on starting this series at 6:00 AM but it is still dark yet here so from 6:30 until 8:00 AM I am outside taking pictures ...Of course I don't keep ALL of my mistakes and delete more than I keep...I have virtually little experience with early morning light as I had been getting up later in the morning for several years but I am changing my old habits....I know this shot I uploaded today is far from perfect but it is an effort and definitely a work in progress. I would have preferred the Angel's Trumpets to be more defined, rather than to be washed out in the sun but I do like the rays.

Glorious light...I have never been able to capture beautiful rays such as these...I see them, but it seems my camera does not.

Thank you so much for your encouragement, Carol...This is very tricky lighting
but it is interesting and challenging both to work with it. -

The sun's rays are magical, very well captured! The morning sun certainly is tricky, it is so intense and of course the angle must be considered.. this is another very striking SP!!

Gen. 1:5 was my first thought when I saw the thumbnail. I like what you have. I think the washed-out Angel's Trumpets add to the effect.

Glorious!! You got the camera pointed just far enough away from direct sun that it makes a great burst of light.

Ohhhhh, you found the rays, Andrea!! They are my favorite part of the morning shots when I can find them here in the Maine woods! What a stunning photograph....you look so alive, just marvelous my friend!! God be with you!

Fabulous, Andrea ... you did an excellent job on this photo by capturing those fantastic sun rays. I agree with Richard about the washed-out Angel's Trumpets adding to the effect of this photo. I also love how you caught the sun inside of your hands : )
