This is one of my most prized possessions, a piece of the World Trade Center. We have it in a simple frame, unadorned, against an ordinary photo of the Twin Towers. The photo itself is poor, having been taken through the glass in the frame, but this one isn't about the 'best photograph', but rather about the best of the US....our strength, our endurance, our unwavering sense of what America is all about.
Today marks the anniversary of the worst tragedy in modern American history, where 2,977 people were killed, more than 6,000 were injured.
God Bless the United States of America.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO CAROL HOLMES FOR THE NOMINATION FOR PHOTO OF THE WEEK! I APPRECIATE THAT SO VERY MUCH!! ♥♥

An incredible tribute Susan. I think we should add to the numbers lost that day to include the ones that have fought and died in defense of it. The casulties from 9-11 grow every day.

AMEN Dear Lady. A wonderful tribute and I think the photo of WTC in this photo is perfect, makes one look just a bit longer and it really hits home.

Indeed I remember. Again I have been looking at TV all day. I too have some quiet small items from the WTC. A friend reached in behind the chain link fence and got a tiny mix of rocks etc. I thought about putting it on the ground of this piece I made, but did not. It is with my rock collection. I too bought a wonderful pix fm ebay showing the pillers and a fireman looking at. Its a double exposier and wonderful. We care.

Your dedication is touching and right, the world cried that day. Here in Padova
(Italy) there is a monument to this tragedy, inserted a metal fragment with the structure of the World Trade Center given to our city. It 'a very venerated relic.
