Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Throughout New Zealand, at this time, and during the next five weeks, The Rugby World cup is in full swing. Countries from all over the world have sent teams in the hope they can win the Webb Ellis Trophy, a much coveted cup. Ken and I drove into the city to absorb some of the atmosphere before the game between the mighty All Blacks and Japan. We had to park about three quarters of an hours walk away, but done the body good. When we got into the FanZone, the whole place was rocking. Thousands of happy people, all dressed in their teams colours, ready for a great night. We walked through the central city, to the new revamped Garden Place. An ice skating rink had been set up for the duration of the Cup weeks. The newly installed lit fountains were flashing their colours. Pavements were jammed pack with families and Fans moving off in long streams towards Rugby Park, some jumping on the free Park and Ride buses. A wonderful night.
When we finally got home, we were able to sit in comfort and warmth, and watch it on our screen. And as predicted the score was a cricket one!! But Japan did score one try and everyone was so happy for them.

Thank you so much Don for your generosity. Hugs xox
