The effects of a heavy rainstorm this afternoon. The last significant rainfall we had recently was a flash flood due to the fact the ground was so hard. We are cherishing every drop.

Yay! You've got decent rain! Hope it sinks in slowly and nourishes the ground. Love the perfect timing of the raindrops.

I can tell by the splashes that this was not a light rain!! Great capture, and I'm so glad you finally got some much needed rain!

looks beautiful from here as well -- glad the earth in your part of the world is getting a soaking. (it rained here overnight too -- the first in many weeks)

I can relate to this Don. We just came out of a 12 year drought and wow has it made us smile :)

I can tell by the splashes that the rain was coming down hard...I'll bet you shot this through the window. The grass looks very green along the edges. We've been getting more rain this week also and the flowers really benefit.

This is something that we would dearly love to see!!! Our drought is almost a year long now and I cannot imagine how awful it would be to have this for 12 years like Chris Chalk said their drought was!!! We still have wildfires being fought and no more rain is in sight for now. The last fire that came up in a big park inside of the Houston city limits may have been arson. They have someone in custody that is a suspect. It's just sickening that some people set the fires on purpose!

Love the rain out here too Don, and that is a good shot. We have started our fall weather, rained about an inch in the past couple days, a 'light mist' to us who are used to an avg rainfall of 110 inches. Very few blue skies in our sights until May now.
