He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it and whoso breaketh a hedge, a serpent shall bite him...Ecclesiastes 10:8

Wasps and ants fight
O'er each apple to bite..
Whatsoever they taste,
They try not to waste...
And dig every bit
Within their reach.
Luckily it wasn't a peach,
Or they may swallow a pit
In their greed to eat more;
But settle to finish the core.

A serpent to deceive,
Tempted Adam and Eve
He said "go ahead.. sample
The forbidden apple.."
In the garden of Eden..
They committed a sin..
For to disobey
Would mean losing life's way,
Falling o'er the edge,
From the tree of knowledge.

Poetry by me, AJP

The wasp on this picture was fine with the ants until they got into the same territory and then the wasp flew at the ants to get them off the rotten apple:)

Knowledge has come a long ways in technology since the Garden of Eden.

Thank you for your comments and for liking the poetry, Donald..I composed it
as the picture was loading and then revised some of the words afterward. Poetry and photography really work together as vision and revision.

Great photo of insects enjoying the apple. I put apples and green leafy food out for critters. I have a half of a small watermelon rind that I am going to put out tomorrow for the critters. I always enjoy your poetry with your photos : )

That is one piggy wasp. LOL!! I am with Susan. Adam could have left that one well enough alone.
